A well deserved victory for Stenhousemuir

A young Stenhousemuir side with only 4 players over 18yrs travelled to Clydesdale and gave a 5 star performance aginast a side of teenagers and youth developers.

This game was won by Stenhousemuir with an incredible appearance from Harris Iftikar and Jack O’Donnell who’ve neither played in the Sunday Leauge before. But their passion for the game and the team kept them ambitious in the field and the positive atitude from the captain and coach which they feeded off of was nothing but supportive for them.

And an Apperanxe from Joe Chalmers also helped the team reach their amazing victory. Having bowled and batted for the first time in a competitive atmosphere, He kept the runs off his bowling to a minimal; having only been hit for 11 after 4 overs and defended his wicket for 0*, the team could not be more proud for him and his passion for the game.

As well as having some new juniors on board with stenny, Gary Halcrow and Talor Scott from the First XI both played for the team today. Gary gave the team the motivation they needed to see them through the 40 overs in the field today. His fielding and bowling today played an effective role in the first innings for Stenhousemuir. During the second innings, Gary opened the batting and raced away with the target; scoring 64 in only 12 overs.
Talor Scott bowled for his first time all season and took 5 wickets for the team which were paramount at very moment as well as assisted others by taking two catches during the innings which truly showed his determination for the team and club. His fielding was very supportive for the juniors as he backed up miss-fields, prevented boundaries and helped get their ball back to the keeper at crucial parts of the game. Talor’s behaviour in the field was incredible and the team could not have asked any mor of him.

The team today worked fabulously together to achieve this victory which means a lot to the club. Every player who walked onto that pitch today has something to be proud of as each fielder Played a part into today’s game. Everyone should be proud of their performances today and Stenhousemuir Cricket Club will be proud of the team they sent out to Titwood, Clydesdale today. Well done to every one of you today.
