A memorable victory for Stenny

Captains report:

Just want to say that the victory the 1sts had today away to weirs is the beat victory I have had in my playing career. To wake up this morning to have 7 players and go through with 9, thanks to joe charmers and mahesh! And also a thank you to bobby Fleming who offered to field for us when we arrived. To play the way we did with the side we had was amazing to see and as a captain I could not be more proud of the players that played today. I have the upmost respect for Joe chlamers who has never once played a competitive game of cricket to step up the way he did today because he knew the team was struggling and put himself on the line and field like an absolute machine. I think we can all say thank you to joe and we will never forget this mate! Also to maesh who never complains when he gets the call at 10:10 on a Saturday morning asking to play for the 1sts, he just says yes turns up and plays his heart on his sleeve. I hope a lot of people in the club read this message and have a think to themselves that maybe I should have agreed to play and put myself to the test. All teams need characters and people who will do anything for the club they love. Today I feel the ten players we had did that today!! I could not be a more proud captain tonight! And after you read this message maybe the people who got the chance to play today are feeling a tad embarrassed about themselves because I know when I was young and got the opportunity to play for the 1sts I would have grabbed it with my hands as those opportunities don’t come around to often and also you play for stenny not the 1sts or 2nds but Stenny!! Again to my ten players thank you everyone wore the badge with pride today and the club should be thanking each and everyone of you after the efforts we put in today. Cheers
