First XI Match Preview
Home to Irvine

Afternoon everyone. Hope your are all well and ready for the weekend. As said above, Irvine is our opposition this week and they’ve recently jumped up to 5th - right below us - in the league after recently beating GHK and Kelburne. This is an important Game for us so come mentally prepared and train hard prior. See below the highlights of Irvine CC for an idea in advance of their strengths and weaknesses.

Professional players - none
Overseas Amateurs- Bevan Carlse & Jacobis Piennar (both from South Africa)

From a batting perspective:
I Singh is their top run scorer with 265 runs, scored 96 against Helensburgh and has an average run rate of 27 runs per innings.
B Carlse ?? has 230 runs behind him, scored 57* against Helensburgh and hasn’t since scored over 50.
M Allam has scored 220 this season, scored 51* against us last game and 56 against Helensburgh
These three batsmen are somewhere between Rushdi and Talor in terms of total runs scored.
Another batsman worth watching out for is their other OSA, J Piennar ?? who’s scored 175 runs over the season, and is 9 runs behind Ross

From a bowling perspective
H Muthair has taken 20 wkts, took 5/28 against Kelburne and has an econ of 4 and an average run rate of 12 between wickets
B Carlse ?? has also taken 20 wkts, averages 15 runs between wickets and has an econ of 3 runs
These two bowlers are between Rushdi and Zeb.
J Piennar ?? has 16 wkts an average of 15 and an econ of 3
This guy is 1 wicket ahead of Sahil and 1 behind Zeb

From a fielding perspective:
Firstly, not one player has ten more than 7 catches int he field which gives us an advantage over then as Rushdi’s has 9 and Ross has 8
Secondly, their keeper has only stumped 1 player, whereas Talor has stumped 6.

As a team, Irvine don’t look very strong compared to us and I’m surprised they’re right behind us in the league. Despite this, don’t let it distract you on the day. This will be an important game for us so be ready for the weekend. Train hard and come prepared to take another win for Stenny ? I’ll see you at the weekend lads...
