A fantastic turnout from a happy band of club members. The tidy up and preparation weekend was a huge success and the ground and club is looking ready for action. Thanks to all who made the effort to join the party. The weather also turned up and we were blessed with a lovely sunny day.
- Storm Éowyn was upstaged today by the W&G's who demolished the old fence AND piled the posts and slats tidily ready for removal.
- Meanwhile the Container Crew tidied and sorted out the containers and made the vital decision of what was crap, and thus to be thrown away, and what was useful and thus to be kept. Fraser, Lynsey and Brian made some great decisions. I even tried to rescue one thing and was asked "really, when was it last used?" so it went back in the pile to go!
- The Whin Folk were superb, cutting, shredding and piling detritus all day - a long shift for them on both Saturday and Sunday until the shredder gave up!
- Many hands do indeed make light work and the people who turned up and worked damned hard to ensure that our Club, and ground is almost ready for the 149th season.
When you use the club, inside or outside, say a wee quiet thanks to all those people who gave a few hours to improve your club.
