Further COVID-19 update

Members

Before I get onto the Covid-19 matters a small notice to say that this month’s 200 club winner is Jade Dollard drawn once again virtually by draw master Ethan Mclaren. Hopefully this will be the last of these as we should be able to draw them at the club from next month.

The senior training began as planned this week with the introduction of a new mobile bowling net allowing us greater capacity. Big thanks go out to Nicky Rodgers, Scott Bain and Denico Hollis for their efforts on Tuesday night. At a distance backup was provided by Bobby Fleming and David Grant. All went well with the training a learning curve for all concerned but better than the previous few months.

Junior Training (Under 16’s)

This will start on Wednesday the 8th from 6pm to 8pm. I would ask parents to book their children in on the Junior Facebook page via Messenger. We will require the following info:-

Name and age of the child/children attending
Parent/Guardian attending and their mobile number

Please note that children until further notice will require a parent or guardian to attend the session so no drop offs. The toilet facilities will be open on Wednesday after being deep cleaned but will be a strict one in and one out hence the requirement for parent support on this. If demand outstrips supply in terms of coaches we will split the session in two and the kids will attend one hour each. Once we see the make up age-wise of those attending we will gauge what to do and get back to you. We are happy for the kids to bring their own kit but for the younger ones we will provide plastic bats and balls that are easily sanitised before and after use. We have the sanitiser in place already.

Bar re-opening 11/12 July

The bar is able to be opened next weekend for outdoor use only and will be for members only running from 3pm-8pm on Saturday and Sunday. Currently the weather forecast is good. The toilets will be open on a one in one out basis and will be the only reason to enter the club as ordering and collection of drinks will happen outside. We have planned for 2m social distancing and in the worst case we can use 10 benches in front of the club accommodating 10 households. If this reduces to 1m all 12 benches will be able to be used increasing our capacity.

Members are asked if they wish to book to send an email to smclaren44@hotmail.com using the subject header BOOKING. In this email we will require the following information:-

Member name and number from household attending with preferred day (Sat or Sun)
Up to date address
Up to date telephone number
Up to date email address

Two members of staff will be on hand one in the bar and the other taking orders and delivering the drinks to the front door. Staff will be wearing gloves, masks and visors. Masks and gloves will be provided if a member requires them. A sanitising station will be at the entrance for the trip to and from the toilet. As this is the bar staff’s first opportunity to experience their new way of working I will ask in advance for your patience on the day.

We appreciate that members have been unable to pay their subs at the bar and we were very grateful to those who paid by transfer while we were closed. For those who wish to come but are yet to pay we will sort this with you in time for next weekend fear not.

If you have any questions please ask when you send your booking request and I’ll do my best to answer.

Kind regards

Steven Mclaren
Covid Officer
