Hi everyone ?. Helensburgh are currently sitting 3rd bottom so they’re going to be at the top of their game to avoid relegation into the second division. Helensburgh recently built Kelburne by 37 runs at the weekend there. Although they’ve only won 2 out of 11 played games, they can play at a decent level. Here’s a debriefing on the team.

No professional players
Overseas amateurs: Caleb Alexander and Brian Van Rooyen (both South African)

Batting wise:
B Van Rooyen is their top run scorer with 336 runs. He scored 103 runs against Kelburne, 90 against East Kilbride and 51 against Irvine. He’s got an average of 42 runs.
C Alexander is second top with 279 runs. He scored 76* Kelburne and 51 against GHK. His average run rate is 31
In terms of local players, D Stephens is top run scorer with 153, no 50s yet this season and an average of 14 runs.
G chambers is second top, local player at the club with 118. He scored 67 against Kelburne and an average of 11 runs.

Bowling wise:
Their top wicket taker (10th in league) C Alexander has 16 wickets, an ave of 19 and an eco of 3.4
D Stephens has 12 wickets, took 1 for 15 against us previously and had an economy this day of 7.5

In the field:
D Stephens is the only player to catch mor than 7 balls (8).
G Chambers has stumped 1 player

Looking at their side, it looks like they rely a lot on the overseas amateurs when batting as their local players are noticeable worse. Their batting is their strongest aspect in the game, but is statistically much worse than us. Their weakest side is in the field, so let’s take advantage of that as much as possible. Also, looking back, their two bets bowlers in terms of preventing runs against us are B Van Rooyen with an econ of 3.4 and G Chambers with an econ of 3.5. Helensburgh are a pretty weak team compared to us obviously, so hopefully that’ll keep us motivated. See you at the weekend lads for another great game...
